Let’s take a tour of the app.Budino shows you around.

Budino is the MyHouse hamster. Pick a room and he’ll tell you what it’s for, with real app screens and a sample home.

The app’s Home screen: the Food, Medicine, Household and Clothes rooms under the roof, and the mozzarella that expires today

The whole house on one screen

This is Home. The rooms tell you what’s about to expire and what to buy again, and below are today’s things. Tap “Finished” and the whole family knows.

          The week’s meals

Food holds the plan for the week. I tell you what’s missing for the recipes on the calendar, and “Add them to the list” puts it all on the shopping list.

          3 of 8

One list for the whole house

Sorted by aisle, the same on everyone’s phone. You see who added what and who already picked it up: no doubles at the supermarket.

          Recipes you can make now

Save recipes from TikTok, Instagram or a website. I show you first the ones you can cook with what’s already in the pantry.

          Treatments and reminders

Here you follow who takes what, and when. It works for a parent’s home too: you see whether Grandma Anna took her 8 o’clock pill. Health data is encrypted.

          The wardrobe checks the weather

I look at the forecast and the wardrobe and suggest what to wear, skipping what’s in the laundry basket. Rain from 16:00 today: the yellow K-way.

          7 of 8

          Cleaning products and toilet paper

I learn how often you finish household products and, when it’s time, ask whether there’s any left. One tap on “List” and it’s sorted.

          Home expenses

Receipts become the month’s spending, split by room. Add rent and bills and I’ll tell you who paid and who owes what.

App screens with a sample home: people, products and amounts are made up.

          Questions about MyHouse.Budino answers.

          What is MyHouse?

MyHouse is an app for the home: it keeps track of what’s in the fridge and the pantry, the medicine in the cabinet, the cleaning products and the clothes in the wardrobe. The home is shared, so the whole family sees and updates the same things.

How does it help with expiry dates?

You note the expiry date when you add a product, even roughly, and MyHouse reminds you a few days before. It also suggests recipes with what’s about to expire, so you throw away less food.

How does the shopping list work?

When something runs out it goes on the list, which is shared with the people you live with. At the supermarket you put things in the trolley and, back home, you photograph the receipt: the products go back in the pantry and the cost goes into the home’s expenses.

Can I keep an eye on an elderly parent’s medicine?

Yes. You can join a relative’s home and see what’s missing, which medicines are running low and whether today’s dose has been taken.

Is MyHouse free? Which phones does it work on?

The app will be free, with an optional subscription for extra features. It comes to Android first, then to iPhone. Right now we’re looking for families to try it before it launches on the Play Store.

Before launching on the Play Store we want to see MyHouse in lots of real homes. We send you the invite, you use it for a few weeks and tell us what doesn’t work.
